Meet James C. Erickson

James C. Erickson, JD, Founder & President

Jim graduated from St. Olaf College in 1966 and the University of Minnesota Law School in 1969. He began his political activism in the 1966 state and 1968 national elections. During the 1969 Legislative Session, he worked for the Liberal (now DFL) Caucus of the Minnesota State Senate. His first job after law school was regional director of the Wendell Anderson for Governor Campaign. He joined the Attorney General’s office in 1971, and ran for the Mn Senate in 1972. He joined the Larkin, Hoffman, Daly and Lindgren law firm in 1973, was active in firm management as LHDL grew from 8 to 80 attorneys; he served as President from 1991 to 1996. He created and led the ground-breaking legal/lobbying practice at the law firm for 25 years, representing many of the state’s major corporations and trade associations. He founded Solomon Strategies Group in 1998, and continues his lobbying and business consulting practice, recently finishing his 52nd legislative session in St. Paul. Solomon Strategies Group now includes additional experienced governmental relations experts. SSG serves an exclusive and limited number of sophisticated business entities and non-profit organizations.
